Weekend Winddown

“Sunday is the golden clasp that binds together the volume of the week”
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

This picure is 2 years old, but I just love it!

On Sundays we are typically in wind down mode…..and prepping for the week ahead.
Yesterday we stayed home some, washed the cars and then went shopping in the late afternoon, trying to find new dresses for the upcoming NHS installation, not an easy task…….we had a very late dinner and late night out.
Today we went to church and ran a few errands and mostly stayed in. Yesterday the temps were in the low 80’s and today it barely got into the 60’s, a cold front bringing a quick rain shower, followed by wind and cool temps and sunshine.
The girls had some club members over to practice a dance for a convention they have next weekend. I put my June Cleaver mask on and whipped up a batch of chocolate chip cookies and treated them all to a warm cookie before they left. Teens are hard to impress, as they rush off in their cars, cell phones in hand, but dang if they didn’t all take one or two and thank me……….not a bad reward.
Also in my domestic divaness I made a great dinner, well Kevin actually grilled the steaks, but I bought them….lol, and they were so good. I actually do love to cook, but I detest the clean up, so if I can get someone to do it for me……I’m a happy mom!
I’m feeling tired right now, I think some jammies are in order and maybe an early bedtime.
How do you wind down from the weekend and prep for the week ahead?

Sleeping in on the weekends always winds me down. Other than that, I typically blast right into the week kicking and screaming =) We did steaks last week like you did this weekend and my contribution in my household (and the way then ended up being cooked) was the same as yours 🙂 I love making dinner with someone else; it is so much more fun.

I’ve gone back to sitting in my recliner, and reading a good book on Sunday nights, followed by my fav show Amazing Race. That seems to relax me…and I’m wondering why I ever stopped that routine but glad I picked it back up.
