Those were Nick’s words at @ 1pm today when he called me. He’d been to the clinic and they allowed him to call me and tell me he had a very bad headache and a tummy ache. I went right after him.
I got him home and in bed and he was watching some TV and sipping some soda. I took his temperature after 3pm and it was over 102!! Now my kids tend to run high fevers, so this one didn’t shock me, but I knew he was certainly not just pulling my leg. Poor little guy, he’s just not feeling good, but he is napping. He ate a little bit of baked potato for dinner, but we are talking a few bites, not much.
He has no other symptoms, just the headache and the tummy ache and fever. I’m probably keeping him home tomorrow, just to be safe. I called a nurse friend of mine and she said it sounds like a stomach virus, and not to be too worried.
Tomorrow at 8am is our appointment with the principal at the neighborhood school. We’re working up a short list with some general questions. Your suggestions on listening more and asking more general questions and letting them lead us were wonderful. I realize they will want a student like Nick, well who wouldn’t? Nick is very bright and eager to learn, though some days he might tell you otherwise. Be thinking good thoughts for us.
We had some startling news from the high school today…………..but I think it needs it’s own separate blog…………so stay tuned.
