What I do fo Me Monday

June 1, 2009 Uncategorized 11

I want to be honest, this is my own creation, and I’m feeling a bit worn out, so I think what I do for me today…….now…………….is this.

We’re in mostly summer mode here and one thing I do for me is get up before the kids and have quiet time. In the school year it’s after the frantic school drop off time. Somehow after dealing with 2 teens and a pre-teen, quiet time is less appealing.

Quiet time begins at the computer……….reading emails, catching up on facebook and then………the blogs. I usually read and comment blogs before I write. I may have written a beginning the night before, or even written it at night and have it update after midnight, but my best times for writing are late at night or early in the morning. I try to let things just happen, but I admit I have a few Memes or theme posts that I enjoy, this being one and my Friday Five.
Blogging or writing about my life, my family, my books, and on and on it goes, these all bring me great pleasure and a sense of some creativity. I am not a crafty person, nor do I believe I decorate with great flourish, but I do enjoy writing………..and my quiet time is much about that.
So let the dust bunnies multiply, let the laundry sit, I’m pouring another cup of coffee and enjoying a bit more peace.

PS, one teen is up…………and the quiet has come to an end!

Terra joined in today, and I admit Terra I played on your passion a bit today………hope you didn’t mind!
Elizabeth posted too.
Here’s what Bonnie is doing for herself.

  1. My name is PJ.

I get up between 3:30 and 5 am every day and it’s my favorite time of the day. My favorite line of your post: So let the dust bunnies multiply, let the laundry sit, I’m pouring another cup of coffee and enjoying a bit more peace.
It could be part of the Bloggers’ Creed. 🙂

Your quiet time sounds so wonderful! Someday, I might experience such a thing. When the boys are a little older maybe 🙂

I do the same thing. Once the girls are off to school, I catch up on emails and all the blogs I follow. I usually write my posts ahead of time and schedule them to post at 7:00 am every morning. I write them whenever I can find the time. Like you I have a couple of meme-type posts I do every week, but mostly I try to review books I’ve read or post about my life as a mom, assistant librarian, citizen of the world. LOL!

I like to write in the morning, too, but I keep a notebook with me at all times, because I never know when inspiration will strike! I try to keep it (the blog) daily, but when I just don’t have anything to say, I let it ride for a day or two.

Hi there I found you through Small Town Blessings and I am so glad that I did!

I am like you… not too crafy, my house is just a home with no great flourishes. I write about my life and I am loving this meme so I will be participating too 🙂

My actual writing time is early in the morning, if the kids stay asleep long enough. I mentally compose (or decompose) daily, though. Sadly enough, some of my best ideas come while I’m driving or doing something other than writing, and oftentimes, it mentally decomposes before I can jot it down! I like to write on somedays, and somedays I like reading and commenting. I love reading and commenting, though. It’s like having lunch or something with you guys.

I would never never never mind…We all come to the blogs for ourselves. I suppose we might have different motives (not you and I just some bloggers) but in the end we write because we like to.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

I’m so glad you started this one Anita. I started getting up an hour earlier a few months ago and I just spend the time catching up on reading blogs, comments and writing. For the first time in years I actually look forward to getting out of bed!
I remember people telling me when my kids were little to get up early and have me time but I couldn’t bare the thought of getting up any earlier than I had too! I was always tired.
