Time keeps ticking…………………

June 12, 2010 Uncategorized 9

How many songs can you name with “time” in them?  As I was thinking up a title I came up with quite a few………..and my points seems to be, it just keeps ticking and slipping by.

All is well in my corner of the world.  School is out, a slower pace in some ways has taken hold.  I’m sleeping in more, procrastinating some chores, and completing others.

Caitie flew of to TX for her internship on Wednesday.  I didn’t cry, it was an amazing thing.  I miss her, of course, but I am so filled with pride for her, and anticipation that I know she is out there growing up,spreading her wings………ah, this is what we as parents strive for.  In just a little over a year she will be off to college, it’s scary but true.

Adrienne is playing or practicing softball 5 days a week!!!  She loves it, I’m worn out on weekends.  Kevin is taking her tomorrow, but if they keep winning I’ll go see her play Sunday.

Nick is doing what all 12 year olds should do in summer…………..PLAY!!!  He has been at some friend’s house 3 days this week, just having a blast.

I see my role changing all the time in life, still needed, but in different ways.  Twice this week Kevin and I ate dinner alone.  It seemed so quiet, and yet a vision of things to come.

It’s late, time still moving, so I’m off for now.  Reading 2 books right now, and I can’t wait to get my hands on a new book by a former HS classmate.

I hear ya about time! Can’t believe I only have one more year before Ellie goes to Kindergarten. Having the two girls back to back like I did makes it seem like a blur …. but time marches on anyway … I am so grateful for Summer!

oh yes, time does keep ticking doesn’t it. Today it is cold and rainy and i chilled to the bone from being at a cold rainy swim meet and I have so many things I want to do but my couch seems to be calling my name and I am afraid today might just slip on by

I guess our role as a mom truly is to raise them so they can be on their own. How does it happen so quickly?

I hope your family has a wonderful summer. They all sound like they’re doing great!

It is amazing how time flies and things change. I am not sure how I feel about my role in my kids life changing when they are older. I guess when I get there I will go with it and all will be fine. I hope your daughters internship goes well! We welcome her to Texas!

    Yay for summer laziness!! 🙂

By the way, I am reading a FABULOUS book now called “The Happiness Project.” I highly recommend it, if you want another good read. 🙂

Oh Anita, I can absolutely relate to time passing. As you know, Katie will be going off to college in 2 months and 6 days (but who’s counting? LOL!). My kids are finally out of school and the summer is very bittersweet. I want to enjoy every mintue, yet I know what’s coming in late August.

Best of luck to Caite in her internship! I can not believe you didn’t cry. Good for you. I hope I can say the same in August.

Enjoy the slower pace that summer brings. I know you will savor every minute.
