I looked back at what I wrote last year, and I almost just reposted it I liked it so much….but well that seemed even more lazy than usual, even for me. Weekends mean less blog traffic and so while tempted I’ll atleast post something new.
I love vintage postcards and prints, so that is what you are seeing today. I think of what went on over 230 years ago that made us the country we are today. I often worry about the wars we are in, the young people fighting for freedoms of us and others. I’m honestly not sure those nations always appreciate what we are trying to do, and it makes me sad.
So for today I’m going to just think about flag waving, and good times and even though we are a young and imperfect Nation, its’ not a bad place to be.
I know I’ve mentioned my love of old movies, musicals too. Does anyone else have old seasonal favorites they watch year after year? I love the 1942 move Yankee Doodle Dandy, staring James Cagney. It’s about the live of George M. Cohan. I bet I could sing you most of the songs too! Just in case you’re interested it’s on July 4 @ 5:30 PM EDT, on TCM……..I’ll either be watching or setting up the DVR….can’t miss it!!
I hope you day is full of good times, good food and ends in a spectacular safe display of fireworks!!!
