A Milestone of Firsts

August 11, 2010 Uncategorized 9

Monday was an eventful day……..it was the first day of the last year of high school for Caitie and Adrienne.  It was also Nick’s first day in public Middle School.  How can they all be so grown up?
The girls had a good day, oddly Adrienne has some easy non-core classes mostly this semester, Digital design, weight lifting, and Leadership, where she volunteers to help with the ESE students.  She also had English 4 honors.  In January she will have more core classes.
Caitie has Anatomy and Physiology, Sociology, AP Calculus, and Am. Govt.  AP Calc is all year, but she has an easier spring.
Nick has really enjoyed his new adventure, he has 8 classes, and he seems to enjoy all of them.  I don’t think there will be any problems with this change, he was ready for it, he knows people in most of his classes and is making new friends wherever he goes.  His electives beyond the 4 core classes are Spanish 1, PE, Art and Intro to Technology.  I think Art and Tech are just half a year, but I’m not really sure.  His core classes are considered Pre-AP, and he is with the same group of 22 or less kids in those classes.
I am adjusting to our new schedule.  I don’t have to drive Nick to school, he walks, it’s about a 20 min walk, or less and he seems fine with it.  Such an independent boy.  He does text me when he arrives.
Here are some more fun pictures from day 1.

Hi Terra! Newbie to your great site. Love the photos of your kidlets! My daughters are just about to start their last days of elementary school and middle school. It’s so exciting, but kind of rips your heart out, too, doesn’t it?

Come by my blog and say hi!
