A new year is like a fresh start, just like the beginning of a school year, or a new school, or anything fresh shiny and new.
Okay, okay, I know that one more day on the calendar is not a complete change, but I think it opens up possibilities, metaphorically if nothing else.
I begin the year with a clean home, put away are all the holiday decorations. When we do this, we all pitch in and clean, clean floors, clean walls, clean furniture, and it feels so good to me.
I am not one to make resolutions, those seem foolish, but setting a few goals, heck yes!! I’m not trying to rebuild everything, but perhaps getting some things back on track. I was just looking back at last year’s blog post, and gosh, I wrote almost the same thing…….I guess I’m consistent.
I had a Word for 2010, it was REVISE. You know what? I did it!! In December of 2009, I realized I was suffering from depression and I worked with my physician to find the right medicine and and the right amount to help me. It wasn’t easy, I had to find just the right thing. I cannot believe how much better I feel, heck I just feel like me. I hadn’t realized how much I had changed. I think if you ask my husband and kids, those who see me day in and out, they would tell you I’m feeling much better.
I think I’m going to have a Word for 2011, but I’m still working on it, actually I’ve just been enjoying this Winter Break so much I haven’t had time alone, and time to contemplate it.
Let me know how you start the New Year.
