M is for Mom

April 19, 2011 Uncategorized 2

While my blog name lists mom last, I think at this place in my life it is one of the biggest roles I play.  I wanted children very much in my life.  I am the youngest of 4 children, and I became an Aunt at age 8, and I was an Aunt to 5 more children by the age of 30.  When I married Kevin we worked oh so hard to have our babies and I wouldn’t change a thing.
I think being a mom can be a rather thankless humbling job, I often feel alone with what I’m doing, and not because Kevin doesn’t support me, because he is a great father.  I just feel that loving and caring for my children is critical to who they will be as adults, and hey I do mess up from time to time..okay more than that…….but I’m trying to do it right.
Someday in the not so distant future, two of them will move out, leave for college, and they will come home some, but really they are leaving, and how we prepared them, helped them grow will show.
Okay, that was my M!!

You’ve described motherhood very well. As you said, right now being a mom is one of the biggest roles you play – but it is one that changes over time. I’m sure that when your girls leave for college in the fall, you will be able to say what a great job you and Kevin did raising them.
