Sunday Morning

March 25, 2012 books, weekends 2

I just love that song by Maroon 5…..
I love nothing more than relaxing any morning, but something about a Sunday morning, coffee, a little light news, the paper, and now I’m taking the early afternoon to update the blog!!

This has been a good week.  I worked 3 days, and although they were nights which I dislike, I did get time with fellow booksellers and book buyers and I drooled over more books that I don’t really need.  I bought one new book, SOUTHERN BISCUITS by Nathalie Dupree and Cynthia Graubart.  I’ve read a wonderful review on  Bermuda Onion’s  blog and the authors will be at the UCF Book Festival next Saturday March 31.  I had to have it!!  I downloaded several egalleys from Edelweiss this week, most with forward publish dates, but one just a week away.  I was blown away when I saw the book trailer for BLOOM by Kelle Hampton on Self Awareness this past week…..it literally brought me to tears and I knew I had to try to read this book soon!!! Click on the link to see her webite and view the trailer.   I’ll have a review up later this week, I’m trying to finish it today or tomorrow.    I then have books to complete before the book festival, as several authors I admire will be in attendance including Joshilyn Jackson and Marybeth Whalen.

In other news Adrienne’s college softball team won 5 out of 6 games this past week!!  Adrienne has really been hitting the ball, so very proud of her.

Caitie returned last Sunday after a week home on her Spring Break, it was very peaceful, she went to beach, amusement parks, slept in, and had a good time being away from school.  Just one short month until she will be completing her first year of college….wow it flew by for both my girls.

Nick is on Spring Break this coming week, and Kevin has taken some time off too.  The boys will be heading to Universal’s Islands of Adventure with a friend of Nick’s.  I opt out because I don’t really ride rides and find spending $80 to sweat and look for cool places to read ridiculous.  They will have a blast….I’ll have a quiet day!!  Other plans include seeing The Hunger Games movie and beach days.

I’m off now to do some laundry, read and make a Target run…..such a glamorous life I lead!!

I featured Southern Biscuits a couple of weeks ago as well, and I got it at SIBA with Kathy. Did we tell you that Nathalie actually invited everyone from SIBA over to her house in Charleston, where she cooked for us? And we got to eat some of those biscuits? OMG. She is also a very nice woman, and I can’t wait to see her again. That book is amazing. Anyway, now I am starting to salivate. We saw Hunger Games last night, and I know you will love it.
