Sunday Meanderings

January 12, 2014 January 12, sunday meanderings 4

Good Morning!! I was so happy to sleep in a bit today.  It’s been a busy week around our house. Indeed all the things I’d anticipated last week happened…whew!

Adrienne left yesterday, she flew back to Pittsburgh to spend @ 24 hours with her girlfriend Lauren. She’s driving back to Buffalo today, and tomorrow she and the softball team begin two weeks of two a days to prepare for Spring season.  Her classes don’t start until January 27th, and they start pre season February 7th in Louisiana.  We had a really wonderful visit, I can see how she’s growing up, changing, maturing.  She’s thinking about life after graduation, what path she wants to take.  It’s all exciting.

Nick had an awesome wrestling week!  He is still in JV this year, as the two weight classes he could participate in are held by two other boys on Varsity.  He’s learned so much and improved, one boy is graduating so it’s fairly certain Nick will move up next year.  He won 1st place at a 32 school tournament. His first week back in school went well, his math class is going to be busy, but it’s prepping him for AP Calc next year.

So here are the new book shelves:

The first one is in our living room, the other two are in our bedroom.  I’m going to get some baskets or bins for bottom shelf on one, adding some interest here and there.

Kevin and I area heading for the movies today, seeing August: Osage County, I can’t wait!  Grilling some chicken for dinner and preparing for a  busy week.  Two wrestling meets on Wednesday and Saturday. Monday night I’m heading for a book reading with Lisa Unger, In the Blood was awesome, check out my review

I didn’t hit my goal of blogging/reviewing 3+ days last week.  It’s about writing reviews.  I’ve got 3 or more unwritten….I’d rather read than write most days, but I have read some great stuff!!

Happy Sunday,  hope you enjoy some peace and joy!

I hear ya on the writing. I have a whole stack of books I need to write about. I think my sister is bringing my mom up at the end of the month and my goal is to be caught up before they come.

I think bookshelves are the best gift EVER. I’ve had mine for a year and I still stand and gawk at them. I dreaded everything going back to the same routine, but it IS kinda nice having my time back. Way to go on the wrestling!!!

Love the new book shelves – I wish I could figure out where to put some new ones in my house. How was the movie? I’ve been wanting to see it.
