Twice a year, a couple of good friends organize and carry out with much help and support a day called Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon.
This year over 900 readers are participating, such an amazing group of people worldwide who are focusing on their love of reading, and sharing.
My goals are simple, read, enjoy, share. I’ve pulled together a stack of shorter length books. In April I finished 2 books, I’d like to accomplish more today. This is what I have in paper.
HorrorStor by Grady Hendrix
Pro-Reclaiming Abortion Rights by Katha Pollitt
Not My Father’s Son by Alan Cumming
How to Be a Good Wife by Emma Chapman
Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng
Bird Box by Josh Malerman
Monster’s Chef by Jervey Tervalon
Ride Around Shining by Chris Leslie-Hynan
I’ve got a couple of novellas in e book, short and easy to complete. I’ve got over 5 hours left in my current audio, which is great for getting up and multitasking when I feel sleepy or just need to move.
It’s not about reading more than others, or being the best, it’s about enjoying what you read, supporting the community and having a good time. I don’t pay attention to start time, because I assume everyone will sleep at some point during the 24 hours. I’m a night owl, so I’ll get up mid morning, and go to bed whenever. Naps are just a bonus!!
I’ll be on twitter off and on all day, and updating my stats occasionally. I plan to recap with my Sunday post.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day!!!
