It’s Monday November 17! What Are You Reading?

November 17, 2014 It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 7

It’s a weekly meme where I share what I’m reading, plan to read etc.  Link up with Sheila at Book Journey and visit other blogs.  Dangerously you will add more books to read!

I finished reading How to Be a Good Wife last week, I enjoyed it, review up this week.

I forgot to mention last week that I attended a fun book event at the Vero Beach Book Center, the editor and author from Random House Kids, Diane Muldrow discussed Little Golden Books, and her books Everything I Know About Christmas I learned from a Little Golden Book.  This history alone was worth the book talk, so much great information about these lovely little books we all had growing up.  Look for a review and a giveaway!!

I’m currently reading:9780451466716_WhatTheLady_Cover and this book is beautiful and just what I needed.  It’s been a while since I’ve read any Historical Fiction, oh how this book hits the spot.  1860’s Chicago and the early days of dry goods stores run by Marshall Field.  I’m only a quarter in, but it’s just lovely.

Almost finished with both of my audio books, and not sure what I’m going to pick up next….as always I’ve got good choices.

I’m trying my best to use this last part of 2014 to read the books I missed this year, not working out as well as I’d wished.  I have four more books that I’ve accepted that publish between now and January 1, and glancing at my stack of books that publish in January, wow seven!  I will be busy.  Still planning to squeeze in some other books and a few Cozy Mysteries in December to share as Jennsbookshelves celebrates Cozy Mystery Week!!

Tell me what are you reading?  Do you have reading goals for the last 7 weeks of 2014?

That book about 1860’s Chicago really interests me! And I have no goals, not one. If I make them, I end up failing so I just read at my own pace, and rarely know what I’m reading next, with the exception of book club commitments. Right now I’m reading Stephen King’s latest “Revival” and listening to “The Paying Guests”. It may be weeks before I finish either!

What The Lady Wants sounds like a good choice for historical fiction. It isn’t my go-to genre but I read a few now and then. I like the premise of this one. Enjoy the rest of it!
Now that I downsized my blog (I used to run My Home of Books until this past week) and changed my perspective, I no longer make goals. I find myself falling short of all goals–except to read 100 books this year, I did that already–and then I feel negative about my blogging. I have decided to go for a laid-back, positive vibe with my book/life blog and hope it works well for me. Feel free to stop by, and enjoy your week and your family; I’m glad you seem to be doing well now after surgery 🙂

That cover is absolutely gorgeous! And the ties to the now-defunct Marshall Fields? You have me intrigued, lady! I must see about finding myself a copy now…
