Good afternoon! I don’t believe in getting an early start most days! Today was quite bad,I got up at 10:30 and went back to bed before noon. I just felt groggy. I got up @ 1:30. I’ve been trolling my social media sites and links and blogs.
I had a lovely Valentine’s Day. Kevin greeted me with flowers, donuts and candy yesterday, how sweet!! We had a relaxing day at home and then went out to dinner and to see the movie Still Alice, based on the book by Lisa Genova. I can see why Julianne Moore was nominated for an Oscar, she gave an outstanding performance. She portrays Alice Howland, a 50 year old woman who is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. It’s difficult at times to watch, very sad, but also very real. Go see it. I had to hunt down a theater where it was showing, frustrating. We also visited a new Indie bookstore in the Winter Park area of Orlando, it’s small but with quite a nice feeling. The Writer’s Block Bookstore has a fabulous collection of Florida books and lots of cards, gifts etc. General fiction selection was small, but diverse. Proudly didn’t buy anything! I’m sure I’ll be back to shop again.
Today has been a total me sleeping day as I mentioned. I’m in my old late night reading habit, started by falling in love with M.O. Walsh’s My Sunshine Away. This is a brilliant novel. I finished another book the next night and I’m moving quickly through a 3rd book. Happy to be reading, but why must I find my groove at 10-11 pm?
In other news last week I saw my PCP for an all clear to my second knee replacement, scheduled in just 22 days, March 9. I can’t wait. After my recovery I’ll be feeling much better I know.
I took my little Yorkie Bella to the vet for her annual vaccines and she was put on steroids and an antibiotic for the allergies and rashes she has. Poor thing, she’s feeling much better.
Wishing you a good week, it’s fairly quiet one for me, next weekend is a big wrestling tournament for Nick. Our county has various size schools, but each one will compete in wrestling next weekend to determine our Conference champs. That is followed by our district tournament, then regionals and states. It could be edgy around here, as Nick is fairly competitive.
