The Sunday Salon- Recovery

The Sunday Salon1

Hello All!!  I feel like writing on my blog again is like coming home in a way.  I broke my arm on February 25, and since them typing on my computer has been one handed.  I’m finally able to lift my left arm up and use my left hand to type again.  YAY!!

I am slowly recovering, I saw my Dr. last week and since my bones are still lined up ok no surgery is needed.  I return in tree weeks and we should see some mending by then.  I hope to be able to begin some physical therapy at that time.  Naturally this accident has slowed down much more than just my blogging.  I postponed my second knee replacement, it’s important to have two good arms when first rehabbing from knee surgery.  My house work and ability to run errands has been impacted.

I have been reading, and I’ve had the best luck in reading books I just love.  Many reviews to share with you.

Today was about sleeping in, and running a few errands with Kevin.  Target and the grocery store.  Last night we went to dinner at a new place to us, Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant, so fun.  We did a wine tasting, joined a wine club and came home with a great seasonal wine.  We both want to learn about other wines and flavors we enjoy.

Our daughter Caitie was home for a few days during her spring break, it was great.  Her boyfriend was here too, and he was finally able to take home the puppy she gave him as an early graduation gift.

On the day I broke my arm our son Nick placed 1st place in his 120 pound weight class in our District, the following weekend he placed 3rd in our Region and last weekend was State tournament.  Out of 16 wrestlers he was out in the 2nd round, but still now awful considering he went so much farther this year than last.  Our HS sent five wrestlers  to State and one placed 5th place.  The boys had a great time, and we are proud of each and every one of them.

Just six weeks until Caitie’s graduation…so hard to imagine.  My mom and sister are coming from Dallas.  So much to do!!

I hope to be around much more….have a wonderful week!!

I’m glad you’re arm is on the mend, Anita, and I hope the healing continues to go well. My gosh, that puppy is adorable!

Oh gosh, I used to just love wrestling. My dad did the PA at our high school and I went to every meet with him from the time I was little. Until a kid got his arm broken and you could hear it all over the gym. I never could go back but I missed it. Congrats to your son on a great season!
