July 12, 2015 The Sunday Salon 4

The Sunday Salon1

It’s already afternoon here, and I can report that I slept in and enjoyed every minute.  Its a quite house Im in right now, alone.  Kevin went to his office, always trying to catch up on all his work.  Nick is at a friend’s house, but he has work this afternoon.  I can’t complain, there is something peaceful and comforting about having the house to myself.  I rarely tire of it.

This past week brought a sense of return to habits and routines to my life.  I found time to write and blog, also visited more blogs, and read more too.  My sleep is returning to to a more settled time.  I’m still up to 1 or 2 am most nights but waking by 9am or so is a nicer pattern.

I’ve got a new hobby, why do all my hobbies cost me money?  Last year I purchased a planner from Erin Condren, if you’ve  never seen one, its just this lovely spiral bound planner system.  It has color and a very nice spread out weekly arrangement, ideal for keeping your life organized.  When I worked I kept a Daily Franklin Covey planner, not as pretty, but with lots of room for daily appointments, goals, to do’s, tasks, blah blah blah.  My employer even sent all managers to a training class…I was hooked, it was like drinking the Kool-Aid! So these EC planners have a huge fan base and some of those decorate their planners, with stickers, washi tape, colored pens…..while I’ve been into the pens since day one, I’ve now stepped over to the dark side.  It’s a little like scrapbooking for planners.  It’s a creative outlet for color and fun by functionality.  I’ve posted some pictures on my Instagram, lets not talk about money spent.

Our girls are well, Caitie had here first Skype interview a week ago and she’s still on the job hunt post graduation.  Adrienne is working and has just moved to a new two bedroom apartment with her current roommate.  Caitie will be moving her stuff home in the next week or so.  She is less than thrilled.  One month from today is their 22nd birthday.

One month is also the length of time until Nick begins his Senior year of HS…amazing!

Two weeks or 13 days until our much anticipated vacation….I cannot wait.  I’m going to unplug from social media except Instagram and spend time relaxing, swimming, walking, napping, eating, and just being with Kevin and the kids.  Nick is bringing a friend, and the girls hope to come for part of that time, we’ve rented a house in Rosemary Beach……counting the days.

My plans for today include grocery shopping, watching a DVD rental, and grilling steaks for dinner.  I hope your day is pleasant….spent just the way you like!

Rosemary Beach is lovely – I know you’ll have a great time! I didn’t know they did Skype interviews these days. Wow! I’m sure Caitie will find a job soon.

Your day sounds marvelous – even more relaxing than mine and I’m not doing much productive. We need that now and again, don’t we, what with the juggling of everyone’s lives?!

I’ve been loving your instagram photos this week, but don’t dare succumb to that hobby! Your day sounds perfect… lots of relaxing here today, too.
