The Sunday Salon2

Good Afternoon!!! It’s been a lazy Sunday morning around here. I enjoy sleeping late and drinking coffee while cruising the internet, watching news etc.

It’s been a busy few days.  Our daughter Adrienne arrived home Thursday for a long weekend. We’ve gone out to lunch, rented movies, gone to a movie, shopped, and cooked good food.  Having all of our kids home at once is a rare treat.  Adrienne has just one more week before fall classes begin.  She’s spent the summer mostly working and saving some money.  Just 7 classes to her graduation!!

We saw the movie AntMan, and I have to say it was really good.  Marvel comics and movies know how to do things right.  I also love how they discuss the Avengers and Stark Industries and Iron Man….good stuff.

We rented the movie Every Secret Thing, based on the book by Laura Lippman.  The movie has some slow parts, and naturally isn’t exactly like the book, but it’s the same in meaning and eventual ending.  My girls enjoyed it, just the right amount of creepy!  It’s available at RedBox now.

School began for Nick, the Senior!  It’s not a bad first semester, his school has block scheduling, four classes per semester.  He’s taking two AP classes this year.

My reading has been kind of slow, perhaps it’s because life has been busy, or that one of my daughters has moved home and my house isn’t quiet often.  This too shall pass and things will get into a groove.  I finished one book in print finally and an audio book last week.  I’d been reading the book for over two weeks!!

I’m heading out soon to Target with the girls and then I need to make a list and grocery shop…fun fun.  I like to semi meal plan dinners based on sales and have an idea of what’s going on.

Wishing each of you a good week….and a peaceful Sunday.

It’s kind of bittersweet when they get to the end of school, isn’t it? Good luck to Nick and Adrienne as they finish school and good luck to Caitlyn with her job search.

Lots of changes coming in addition to the ones you already had this past year. As you said, this too shall pass. All too soon, you will be lamenting the silent and empty house, so enjoy having the kids home while you can!

I didn’t know Every Secret Thing had been made into a movie. I’ll have to check it out.
