Hello my friends and fellow bibliophiles! I have been so very busy with the things of life that I’ve not taken the time to write here.
First, my daughter Caitie got a job!! She accepted the offer last week, and it’s been a whirlwind. It’s a small engineering firm in Tampa FL, the office is right downtown, and she’s excited about the learning opportunities and new adventures this will offer her. She posted this photo this morning, the view from her desk, Tampa University.
She and I went apartment hunting on Saturday, wow that has changed so much in 25 years! The options and upgrades ran the gamut. She has now decided on one that is not as brand spanking new looking, not upgraded kitchen counters and appliances but has a washer/dryer in her apartment. This was important to her. It was in the middle of her price range and I think she’ll be just fine, the outside and inside of the apt itself is very nice, just those appliances are a bit older, but not any older than my kitchen…ha ha.
In other news I’ve been dabbling a lot in my new passions, planning and #ListersgottaList. I currently use an Erin Condren Life Planner. In June I began to decorate my planner, and use more stickers and accessories to make it stand out and be more fun, as well as useful. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen this shift, this growing passion. I also found a group where I’m given daily prompts for a list, and I then proceed to not just write the list, but embellish it with stickers, paper, ephemera, washi tape and other goodies. You can learn more about this at TheResetGirl.com, Cori is the guru of this website and planner and lister movement. She has her own shop with stickers and kits to make your listing fun. It can be simple or elaborate. There is also a Facebook group for this activity. It’s a new way to write, to think, to look inside yourself. I love it. I had the pleasure of attending a class with Cori and 23 other women focusing on #Listersgottalist, and some planning. Amazing!
Reading….yes I’ve been reading. I just finished this in audio this morning.
Oh my goodness soo good, Jennifer McMahon doesn’t disappoint!
I’m reading this:
I’m over half way through this book, and it’s intriguing. The human condition and what choices we make are good fodder for novels. Paula Daly is a writer I enjoy very much.
So that’s what is most taking my time and energy, beyond the usual, mothering, wifing, pet care taking, cooking etc. We’ll be helping to move our daughter in a couple of weeks, and I’m sure that will involve multiple shopping trips and visits to see her….very fun.
I hope your reading and life are well….what’s going on?
