Sunday Salon

April 9, 2017 The Sunday Salon 2

Good afternoon!!!  I’ve been gone this past week, visiting my mom in Texas.  I had a lovely trip.  We were able to meet the newest great grand baby, my niece Alyssa’s son Eli Clayton Smith.

My mom will be 90 this fall and this is her seventh great grand child.  My niece’s first child.  He is just perfect!!  He is 23 days old today and so sweet!!  My mom talks sweet baby talk to him in the one photo and he is looking at her and grasping her finger.  I could have held him all day!!

I also spent time with my sister, which is always fun!  I took her a few books and recommended a few to her too.  We ate well, and the three of us talked a ton.  We also cleaned out my mom’s closet, her request.  I hate being 1000 miles away from her, but love every minute I get to spend with her.  Big birthday party plans for her 90th coming up!

I’ve been reading, though a slower pace this past week.  I fell asleep on both my flights…not normal for me, but oh well.  I’ve got most of my March reads to review…so keep visiting.

Jenna Weaker was the winner of Flight Patterns by Karen White in my giveaway.  I’ve sent her an email.  Thank you to all who entered.

It’s warming up quickly here in FL…It will be hot soon…ugh, as I get older I wonder why I live where it is so hot.  I don’t think Florida will be where we live after Kevin retires, I’d much rather go where there are mild seasons.

It’s been a lovely day here, slow moving, a trip to the grocery store and now we’re prepping to grill steaks for dinner.  Wishing you all a wonderful week…full of love, good books and peace.

    Aw, what a precious baby!

It’s so funny that you’ll leave Florida when you retire because so many people go to Florida when they retire.

    We grilled steaks tonight too.

Aw! New baby snuggles are the best!

Our weather is still struggling to turn over into spring. We had a beautiful weekend but storms are rolling in later today that will drop the temps back down to what I consider unacceptable levels for this time of year. I’m ready for sandals and dresses!
