It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? July 10

July 10, 2017 It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 8

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It’s a great post to organize yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

I’ve missed a few weeks, and I am truly sorry.  I am envious of people who vacation and find time to read stacks of books.  When I travel I want to see all of the history, landscape and happenings of the locale.  Our trip to Seattle was wonderful!  I didn’t read much at all…ugh.

Recently Finished:

This was a solid story, a survivor of a kidnapping, help captive for several years has many scars, inside and out.  She is constantly on the lookout for the next girl her captor might take, he was never caught.  This is the story of what happens when another girl goes missing, and the similarities are too close to miss.  Full review to come.

I listened to this on audio…wow I loved it.  Five Stars+  I’ll be reviewing but if you haven’t read or listened to this one, don’t be put off by the references to it being a hockey book, it’s much more.

I attempted the audio of The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas I couldn’t get into it.  I’ve read wonderful reviews, so perhaps the print would be better.

Currently Reading:

Nearly finished with The Child, and review up later this week.  The Lost Letter is very good I’ve just put it aside for a review commitment.

Currently Listening:

This is for Book Club selection-August.  I’m really enjoying, and I have no idea why I didn’t read this book sooner.

What’s Up Next:

I hope you’re finding plenty of summer reading, please let me know your favorites!

Looks like you have a terrific line up. I have The Child on my Short List and will look forward to your review. I enjoyed Barton’s debut novel, The Widow. Have a great week!

I just wrote about my intentions to blog while away and how badly I did with that! What did you do/see while in Seattle?

I’ve been meaning to read something by Backman but I hadn’t considered audiobook. I will have to see what is available at my library.

Thanks Lindsey for making me feel less alone in my lack of reading/blogging while away! We saw so much, I need to write a post about it. We did the typical things, Pike Place Market, Space Needle, Water/land tour of downtown and Lake Union. A harbor water tour. Ate lots of seafood, a few museums, so much walking and more good food!

A great trip to a place like Seattle – why would you read! Will keep in mind that Bear Town is good on audio. You have some good books in your future. Have read the Jackson one and want to read the Henry one.

I don’t get much reading done while I’m on vacation, either, unless Carl and I go to the beach.

I loved the audio of The Hate U Give but it took me a while to warm up to the narrator. Sorry it didn’t work for you.

Yay – so glad you loved Beartown! Agree- it’s so much more than a hockey book. I have Hate U Give on hold at the library, but e-book format. We’ll see…

A bunch of your books are on my ever expanding wishlist. We’re in the last few days in our current place. It seems like the work to move will never end. Come see what I’m reading when I’m not packing.
